Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I love to sing and I love to make music. I also love to listen to music. So far in my 31 years of life, I have had more positive experiences with doctors, nurses, and hospitals than negative ones. Even my dentist visits have been super positive (of course, I have never had a phobia about the dentist).They have all kinds of gadgets that help make your experience easier and make the time that you are in the hospital go by quicker. When I was pregnant for each child, I remember their medical computer carts. A nifty tool to help cart around the computers they used for various things. I don't know why that particular thing always stuck out in my mind, but I guess I felt it was their way to be able to be competently mobile for each patient in the hospital.

I found a great site with adult bunk beds. I haven't slept in a bunk bed since I was a kid.Oh to be a kid again! One of my most favorite things to do as a kid was jump on the bed. I remember jumping and going so high and then plopping back down on the bed again as the mattress still rumbled with the bounces.Everything seemed less complicated as a child. My husband is a technology nut! He loves anything having to do with the latest trend... that is, if it makes sense and allows life to be slightly easier. One of his favorite new toys, bluetooth stereo headphones. He enjoys listening to loud music and/or playing video games while I attend school. However, the noise can be a distraction for me. First birthday gifts

When my first born turned 1, the big situation at the time was finding the perfect birthday gift. After all, where did one find neat gifts for first birthday? My husband and I completely over-thought the situation. As first time parents, that first birthday gift seemed to hold so much importance. So much symbolism was packed into one birthday gift. We wanted our son to know how much he was loved, how special he was to us and most of all how complete his presence had made us as a family.Eventually, we settled on a blue rocking dog. Unfortunately, the gift wasn't the highlight of his birthday (he preferred his huge blocks over the rocking dog) but at the end of the day we knew that we had the best intentions and that our love and effort brought forth a great 1st birthday for our son! :)

Mange

When we first got our beagle, I was afraid that he had mange. He had a spot on his body where the fur was completely gone (and he kept scratching it!).

However, I found out that it was the soap that we used to bathe him with on the first night he came home. That made a lot of sense as we gave him a bath right away (and didn't really notice every little spot and mark on his body yet).

Thank God he didn't have mange! However, I did a lot of research on it and there are treatments available. It isn't a totally hopeless situation after all.

Well, back-to-school is just around the corner and with it comes back to school shopping!

I will be buying the kids end of summer / fall wardrobes complete with socks, shoes, backpacks and the works! Now all I need to do is find Kohls coupons. I love shopping at Kohls! They always have great prices for great products!

Last year, I was able to get my son's school clothes, coat and backpack for a very reasonable price! I even picked up a little something for myself. :)

Heart issues

Last year was very scary for my family in terms of health. My mom had to have an ekg because she passed out at my cousin's graduation party.

There is a balance between life and death and when you are hanging on the tip of that balance (for either yourself or someone you know), it is a scary situation.

Thankfully, everything turned out okay. Her potassium levels were low and she needed to get more of that in her diet. She was also slightly anemic.

I am very thankful for the competent medical staff who helped my mom that day. It just goes to show that all of our technology is used for a lot of good! :)

My goal is to get a new laptop and then give my old laptop to the kids for educational games and homework use. I think it is good to have more than one computer in the household. Do you have a child who is into wrestling? Wrestling was never a big sport at my school. In fact, I can honestly say that they didn't offer a wrestling program at all. Mainly because my school was so tiny. We only had a small athletic budget and so Basketball, track and cross country were our sports of choice.

My cousin was a wrestler all throughout junior high and high school. He loved it! He did it for the first couple of years in college but then decided it wasn't for him anymore.

Wrestling has increased in popularity over the years. The creation of the WWF and NWO helped this sport take off. Even some of the most popular actors today (The Rock and John Cena) started out as wrestlers! :)

This time in our history, we have become extremely energy conscious. We find ourselves asking important questions like how much energy do we use? How big is our carbon footprint? Do we buy only from companies who have gone green?

In the United States, we generate a lot of trash. So much trash that some of our landfills have become overfull. That is why I like to try and recycle or reuse things as much as possible. When I recycle something, I feel like I am doing my part to conserve energy and resources.

This is why I like my camera batteries rechargeable. Not just camera batteries either. I would rather buy rechargeable batteries that I can use over and over again than batteries that I can only use once and then dispose of.

But then again... I think it is important to conserve. Don't you?

Unique jewelry

I never used to be much of a jewelry kind of gal. To me, jewelry had no use other than to "look pretty". While I am a slave to "looking pretty" (hair, makeup, clothes-- you name it), I have never had a fetish for jewelry (oddly enough).

However, the older I get, the more I find myself getting into jewelry. I love unique jewelry, vintage jewelry and Cancun jewelry. Anything that adds a splash of color and sparkle to my outfit is a great thing! :)

I have read so many good things about the newest Kindle. It is almost weightless, great screen for reading without getting computer-related eye strain, headaches, etc. Not to mention, Amazon.com has been adding a ton of new books to their site! This is in addition to the newspapers, blogs and other book offerings. I have even heard of an online library that you can use with your kindle that is completely free!

Not to mention online book swaps with other kindle users.

I think the Kindle is the new wave of technology where reading is concerned. I can't wait to get one! I want! :)

If a diet pill really worked, then I would get reviews from friends, family, coworkers and friends of friends.

The only time a diet pill would get serious national news / media coverage was when the product managed to harm someone.

This day and age, a person can use Google and other resources to look up reviews for diet pills. This is really handy when making a decision on whether or not to use a certain brand of diet pills. You probably know by now that not all brands are created equal! :)

My parents are big fans of rustic furniture. Their house looks like a log in cabin. Their current decor has a very "woodsy" feel to it.

We are redecorating and renovating our home. The process is a slow one. We try to do projects one-at-a-time and we are very "cash flow" conscious.

The next project to tackle will be home lighting. I remember once in high school I had to give a speech about wheel bearings. We were given an object and had to write a speech about it. As a class, we would each be assigned a person to give an object to and then that person had to write about whatever object we chose.

It was actually a really cool assignment. I remember when a boy in my class handed me the wheel bearing. I had no clue what it was! I wrote a whole speech about it being an object used on a car-- but I think I said "engine" rather than wheels or breaks.

My new office!

Very soon, my husband will start construction on my new office! I am extremely excited! This makes me feel very "business official" for sure!

So, I am in the process of picking out the important things: carpet, modern office furniture, pictures on the wall, a frame to put my degree in, and a cute lamp to complete the look!

I am thinking that I will pick out a brighter (but calming) color of paint for the walls.

Eyesight getting worse with age

I think my eyesight is getting bad. Since I am on the computer for my job, for school and for leisure time (mommy zone-out time), I find that my eyes get tired more often.

There is something called Computer Vision Syndrome. It's basically the cause and effect of being on the computer too long / too often and the symptoms associated with eye-strain as a result.

So, I am hoping to get my eyes checked out very soon! Now, if only I can find a cute pair of cheap eyeglasses, i'll be all set! :)

Self-declared gamer at age 6

Heh. My son declares himself a "gamer" and he's only 6! He is much better than I am at playing games on our game consoles. He is always begging us to buy ps3 games.

I try very hard to turn off lights when there is no need for them to be used. I have also changed my bulbs to a more energy-efficient brand.

The great thing is... the energy efficient brand of bulbs have no bearing on the style of lighting you can choose to have in your home! I am always on the lookout for the newest and most modern styles of light fixtures! :)

I found a cool document management software program today. It will allow me to effectively and efficiently manage my documents. This will make my dream of going completely paperless come true!

At my old job, I used document management software to scan in invoices for accounts payable. I also used it to scan in service tickets for the various clients of the company. This was a great way to keep track of everything in the office! Anytime we needed to pull up information, we were able to pull up our scanned in document in an easy manner.

Do you love faucets? I see faucets and I think form of art. Because even though they are meant to be functional. The new designs are so amazing now! There is a kind of dirty brass faucet with clean lines -- square in shape. And of course, the brushed silver and gold faucets. Different heights and smooth to hard lines. Make for a very attractive addition to any kitchen or bathroom!

End of the summer pool cleaning

Today, I went to the store to get some swimming pool supplies.

After Memorial Day, I plan to take the pool down. And since Memorial Day is only a few weeks away, I decided that I wanted to be prepared.

Recently my husband told me about this great technology among color printers. Its called Solid Ink. Xerox is the only manufacturer of this product and it proves to be very environmentally friendly. The model he was talking about was the Xerox Phaser 8560, which isues a crayon like substance for ink and melts and fuses to the page. Their is no drum or carton used so no waste! The printers products fantastic color at very fast speeds.

My husband sells Xerox products for a living. He has said that the Xerox model 108R00724 is one of the best for office use.

I don't know if there is a right or wrong way to use a diet pill such as apidexin. Like all other pills, it is best to ask your doctor first. And of course, most pills have side affects, so it is important to mark down those affects.

I have only used diet pills a few times in my life. Each time, I used it as a short term solution to kick my butt in gear and start losing weight. While the extra energy was sometimes absolutely insane, it was nice because it truly did jump start my metabolism!
